Who's in charge

Inna Kotenko, M.A., M.Mus., M.M.Ed. is the Founder and CEO, and currently a Music Director of Sparks Music Academy, Toronto Campus.


She obtained her degrees in Ukraine: Master's of Arts (Chamber Orchestra and Music Assemble), Master's of Music (Piano Performance and Piano Accompanying), and Master's in Music Education.


She's a Registered Te

Inna Kotenko, M.A., M.Mus., M.M.Ed. is the Founder and CEO, and currently a Music Director of Sparks Music Academy, Toronto Campus.

She's a Registered Teacher with the Royal Conservatory of Music, RCM Teacher #104903 , and also a Certified Teacher with Ontario College of Teachers in Good standing, Registration Number: 636014.


Overall, her teaching experience is more than 30 years. She started her teaching career in Ukraine, and after immigrating in Canada, continued her passion of teaching and performing in North America providing in-person and online individual and group lessons, and piano accompanying. 


Currently, she teaches at the RCM (Royal Conservatory of Music) and Sparks Music Academy, Toronto Campus. She also works at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Music and York U, Department of Music, RCM as a Piano Accompanist.

Occasionally, she continues her passion as a Concert Pianist at local events and gatherings.

Price List for all our services

Individual lessons

Piano, voice, guitar, ukulele, theory, etc.

Single subject (lesson), 30 minutes

$35 + 13% HST

Two subjects (lessons) of any combination, 30 minutes each, 1 hour total

$55 + 13% HST

Two subjects of any combination: piano  + theory, guitar + voice, piano  + voice, etc. Totally - 1 hour, 30 minutes each.

Three subjects (lessons), any combination

$75 + 13% HST

Three subjects of any combination: piano + voice + theory, guitar + piano  + voice, etc. Totally - 1.5 hours.


Family discount

$60 + 13% HST

(2 students enrolled) x 30 minutes lesson for each child/adult, total of 1 hour. 



Additional 30 minutes based on a family discount

$30 + 13% HST

If a family has 2 family members enrolled, any additional 30-minut elesson will be with less cost.

Adult single subject (lesson), 1 hour

$65 + 13% HST

Special needs discount for adults, 1 hour

We have a special needs discount for all kinds of official disabilities.

OW, ODSP recipients, 1 hour

This discount is valid with an official letter from OW (Ontario Works), or ODSP (Ontario Disability Support Program).


Group lessons

We offer guitar, ukulele, and keyboard group lessons

Small group (2 students), 30-minute lesson

$30 + 13% HST

Totally per month - $120-$150 (depending how many weeks are in a month)

Medium Group (3–4 students), 30-minute lesson

$25 + 13% HST

Totally per month - $100-$120 (depending how many weeks are in a month).

Larger Group (5–6 students), 30-minute lesson

$20 + 13% HST

Total cost per month - $80-$100 (depending how many weeks are in a month).


Registration fee

Charged ONCE, for all new students

$40, no HST

The $40 registration fee at Sparks Music Academy covers:

1. Student enrollment and profile setup;

2. Initial assessment and placement;

3. Scheduling and administrative support;

4. Practice chart and basic learning materials, printouts;

5. Welcome and orientation support through texting,  communications any time;

6. Access to a participation in free community recitals at retirement homes, community centres, libraries, etc.


SPARKS Vocal Groups

At Sparks Music Academy, students learn to sing together, build confidence, and develop vocal skills. Focus on technique, harmonies, and performance in a fun, supportive environment. Opportunities to perform at recitals and events.

Little Sparks (ages 4–5), 30 minutes once a week

$25 + 13% HST

What do we do:


- Singing simple songs and nursery rhymes;
- Movement and action songs;
- Rhythm games and clapping;
- Exploring high/low sounds;
- Building confidence and joy in music.

Shining Sparks (ages 6–11), 30 minutes

$25 + 13% HST

What do we do:


- Group singing and basic harmonies;
- Vocal warm-ups and breathing;
- Pitch matching and ear training;
- Learning fun, age-appropriate songs;
- Simple performance skills and stage presence.

Glowing Sparks (ages 12–15), 45 minutes

$35 + 13% HST

What do we do:


- Vocal technique (breath control, tone);
- Singing in harmony (2–3 parts);
- Pop and contemporary repertoire;
- Microphone technique basics;
- Expression and emotional connection to songs.

Radiant Sparks (ages 16–17), 60 minutes

$45 + 13% HST

What do we do:


- Harmony and ensemble blending;

- Performance coaching and stage presence;

- Audition and solo preparation;

- Working with microphones and recordings.

Brilliant Sparks (18+), 1 hour

$45 + 13% HST

What do we do:

- Group harmonies and ensemble singing;

- Exploring different styles (pop, jazz, musical theatre);

- Performance and confidence building;

- Opportunities for solos, duets, and recordings.


Summer and Winter Music Festivals

Semi-annual events for Sparks Music community!

Music Festival (in June and December)

$100, no HST

Music Festival Participation Fee – $100 per family (unlimited guests)


This fee includes participation in the Summer or Winter Music Festival and helps cover all event-related expenses. 


It includes:

  • Performance opportunity for students on a professional stage;
  • Venue rental and setup;
  • Event organization and coordination;
  • Use of instruments and equipment (piano, microphones, sound system);
  • Certificates, awards, and small presents for participants;
  • Decorations;
  • Cleaning and superintendent on site fee.


SPARKS Summer Music camp (6-12 y.o.)

A fun, creative, and engaging week where children explore music, build confidence, and make new friends in a safe and supportive environment.

Cost per camper (1 week):

$350 per child

Sibling Discount:

2nd child: $320

3rd child (and more): $300


13% HST will be added to the fees.


Daily music activities: 

  • Singing, rhythm games, basic piano and instrument exploration;
  • Creative arts and crafts connected to music themes;
  • Group activities that build teamwork and confidence;
  • Introduction to different musical styles and cultures;

A fun-filled and creative week where children explore music, build confidence, and make new friends in a warm, supportive environment.

- Intro to basic music skills (singing,  drumming,  listening);

- Music-themed arts and crafts;

- Fun group activities and teamwork games;

- Themed days (e.g., Music Around the World);

- Outdoor play and movement breaks;

- Mini performances throughout the week;

- End-of-week showcase for parents.


Schedule: Monday–Friday

Arrival: 8:30 AM

Pick-up: 3:30 PM
